New Year’s Resolution – Get a Better Education

Happy New Year! It’s the New Year, a perfect time to step back, get organized, and set some goals for the coming year. Research shows that setting a goal as a New Year’s resolution is a smart idea – you are more than 10 times more likely to achieve your goal if you make it a New Year’s resolution!

That’s a pretty compelling statistic, so if you’ve been considering going back to school, now is a great time to make a New Year’s resolution of getting a better education.

Easier said than done, right? With family, work, and other personal responsibilities, the idea of fitting school into an already packed schedule can seem daunting. But sometimes all you need to do is get the ball rolling.

If you’ve been pondering going back to school, but are not ready to make the commitment of a full program, often times you can start with one class. See how it goes. If you feel you are heading in the right direction, you can seek formal admission to Colorado State University for the following semester and apply that class to a degree or certificate program once you are admitted.

Happy New Year!Classes at CSU begin January 18 for the spring 2011 semester, with enrollment open through February 2. Check out the Explore Topics portion of our website to see what areas of study interest you. Online, distance, and face-to-face courses are designed for busy adults, and programs are flexible to create a learning environment that fits your life and professional goals.

Don’t let another year pass you by. If you’ve been considering going back to school, begin by enrolling in one course. That initial class can lead to the start of a graduate degree or certificate program. This can be the year that you open new doors, get a better job, and start on the path to achieving a lifelong goal of higher education.

Make getting a better education your New Year’s resolution. For useful tips on making resolutions, check out this post from the Happiness Project. Have a prosperous and happy 2011!
